Synopsis

After Kitauji High School's concert band holds auditions for the Kyoto Prefectural competition, ten members don't make the cut. Unable to perform with the main ensemble, these students form Team Monaka and commit to supporting their bandmates however they can leading up to the competition. Whether it's hauling equipment or making monaka-shaped lucky charms, their behind-the-scenes work ends up being crucial to what becomes a memorable, bittersweet summer as the band works toward nationals.
