Angelique: Shiroi Tsubasa no Memoire
Angelique started out as a dating sim for girls on the Super Famicom in 1994. You play as Angelique Limoges, a regular schoolgirl who gets pulled into the Sanctuary of the Queen of the Cosmos and thrown into a competition to become the next Queen. She's clumsy and kind of a mess compared to her rival Rosalia de Cartagena, who's basically been groomed her whole life for this. The competition itself is pretty straightforward: the two girls use the powers of nine Guardians—called Sacrea—to develop a barren continent. Whoever gets their population to reach the center island connecting the two continents first becomes Queen. Of course, the Guardians are all ridiculously attractive, so you're constantly torn between actually trying to win and, you know, romance. The OVA adaptation consists of 4 separate OVAs with multiple parts each.
