Synopsis

Einar's had it rough. After his father dies and raiders destroy his village, he just wants a normal life farming with his family. But that doesn't happen—Danish invaders show up, burn everything, kill his loved ones, and drag him off to slavery in Denmark. Held together by his mother's last words, Einar gets lucky enough to be bought by Ketil, a decent slave owner who offers him a path to freedom through farm work. That's where he meets Thorfinn, another slave working the fields—a broken, pessimistic guy. As the two work toward earning their freedom, they're both weighed down by past mistakes and present hardships. It's not much, but they keep pushing forward, searching for some kind of redemption and peace in a world that rarely gives either.
