Synopsis

Nine-year-old Melmo Watari's life falls apart when her mother dies in a car accident, leaving her alone to raise her two younger brothers—preschooler Totoo and baby Touch. But their mother isn't quite gone. Watching from heaven and heartbroken over her children's struggles, she appears to Melmo one last time with a gift: a magical jar of candies that can age her up or down by ten years, or transform her into any animal. With these powers, Melmo disguises herself as a nineteen-year-old woman to care for her brothers while somehow still trying to have a normal childhood. It's a lot to juggle, but she's determined to keep her family together.
