After four years of brutal warfare, the Great War finally ended, leaving the continent of Telesis fractured but slowly rebuilding. Violet Evergarden was raised as a child soldier, trained solely to be a weapon on the battlefield. When she was wounded and maimed in the conflict's final days, the only thing she had left was a cryptic message from the person closest to her—words she couldn't begin to understand. As Violet recovers, she leaves her new guardian family and finds work at CH Postal Services instead. There, she stumbles upon the profession of "Auto Memory Doll"—people who write down their clients' thoughts and feelings, turning them into tangible words. Something about this work speaks to her, and Violet decides to become an Auto Memory Doll herself.
