Synopsis

A French Bulldog adopted from the Happy Kennel by a girl named Ai gets named Alex. Ai shares stories with him, including tales from a book about a dog searching for the legendary Fortune Tree. Things go wrong when Alex accidentally boards a bus after a girl dressed like Ai, getting separated from his owner. Now going by Freddy—the name of the storybook hero—he sets out to find his way back to her. But there's a bigger problem: Freddy and the friends he makes along the way discover that the Fortune Tree is dying. If they don't save it, humans will lose their capacity for compassion and stop caring about their pets entirely.
