Two abandoned kids, Utsutsu and Yume Hasegawa, only have each other. When strange red butterflies start appearing around them, things take a dark turn—the butterflies are a sign that a virus called Pupa is about to spread, and it's bad. Really bad. Yume gets hit hardest by the infection, transforming into a monster with an uncontrollable craving for human flesh. Utsutsu catches it too, but differently—he develops incredible healing powers instead. Determined to keep an old promise to himself, he's ready to do whatever it takes to protect his sister and keep her contained before she hurts anyone else. Pupa follows Utsutsu's desperate fight to save Yume while stopping her from becoming a threat to the world.
