Synopsis

In Victorian-era London, the notorious thief March made a name for himself stealing from the wealthy to aid the poor—basically a Robin Hood type who had Scotland Yard running in circles. Sherlock Holmes eventually tracked him down and made his arrest at his illegitimate daughter Kitty's birthday party. Four years pass. March gets into it with Scarface, the prison's top criminal, and manages to escape by climbing the prison wall. Holmes suspects there's more to the breakout than meets the eye and lets March do what he's after before bringing him in. Then Scarface shows up out of nowhere with a sword pointed at Kitty. To protect an innocent life, Holmes and Watson team up with an unlikely pair of detectives—Lee the Gorilla and Foxy—to get her back. The whole thing escalates into a desperate fight set against a backdrop of exploding fireworks. This is the first time the wildly popular Sherlock Holmes books have been adapted for film, blending mystery and action in a way that works for audiences young and old.
