Synopsis

Himeno Awayuki, a cheerful 16-year-old, moves into a sprawling mansion after her father remarries. It should be a dream come true—big house, beautiful garden, the whole package. Instead, her new stepfamily makes her feel unwelcome. Her stepmother ignores her in favor of Himeno's dad, her younger stepsister Mawata gives her the cold shoulder, and her same-age stepsister Mayune is constantly pulling pranks on her. Before Himeno can sink into despair about her living situation, everything gets weird. Seven magical boys called the Leafe Knights show up and ask her to become a magical princess so she can borrow their powers. She agrees and becomes the Prétear—basically the one person who can protect the Leafe, an energy source that sustains all life on Earth. Problem is, Himeno has no confidence in herself, and now she's got to figure out how to fight off an enemy called the Princess of Disaster while also finding her place in her own family.
