Captain Tsubasa (2018)
Captain Tsubasa follows 11-year-old Tsubasa Oozora, a kid absolutely obsessed with soccer. While his friends treat it as just another sport, Tsubasa has made it his entire world—it's all he thinks about and dreams about. To seriously pursue his passion, Tsubasa moves with his mother to Nankatsu City, a place famous for having some of the best elementary school soccer teams around. Back in his hometown, he was the clear standout player, but Nankatsu is a completely different beast. Suddenly he's surrounded by serious competition, and he has to prove himself all over again. There he meets a mix of rivals and friends who share his love for the game. Sanae Nakazawa, a girl who catches his attention, and Genzo Wakabayashi, an incredibly talented goalkeeper, both become important people in his life. Especially Genzo—he's got the same drive as Tsubasa and becomes someone he can really rely on as they both push toward their goals. Tsubasa's ultimate dream is representing Japan at the FIFA World Cup, but raw talent alone won't get him there. It's going to take everything he's got.
