Synopsis

Sun Wukong, born from a magic stone, spent five hundred years trapped under a mountain as punishment for causing chaos in heaven. A deity named Guanyin eventually tells him that a monk named Xuanzang will free him, and that he's destined to travel with this monk on a pilgrimage westward to India. Sure enough, Xuanzang shows up and releases him, and they set off together. During their journey, they recruit two more companions: Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing. The four of them face off against all kinds of demons, monsters, and sorcerers while slowly learning to work as a team.
