It's the last day of school at Kamakura Girl's School, and summer break is finally here. Ichika Tachibana, a serious but friendly 14-year-old, is looking forward to making this vacation unforgettable with her friends. She has no idea what's actually coming. While cleaning an old school building, Ichika catches sight of an unfamiliar girl staring back at her from a mirror—except it's not her own reflection. Her friends convince her she imagined it, but later that same day, the girl shows up again in the mirror, holding Ichika's missing cell phone. She introduces herself as Manatsu Kuroki, steps right out of the mirror, and hands the phone back. That's when Ichika notices something weird: the stones on her phone charm have changed color. Turns out they're connected to the powers of 12 Djinn that protect the world, and she can now summon them. Uta Kata follows Ichika as she learns and grows through her encounters with these spirits. The Djinn will show her incredible things—and along with them, some pretty overwhelming truths about herself and the world around her.
