Marine Boy
Kaitei Shounen Marine
This is essentially Marine Boy expanded again. The studio added 65 new episodes to the original 1966 series, bringing the total to 78, and sold all of them to American broadcasters. Japan's rollout was messier—they only aired the first 36 episodes initially before eventually getting the full 78-episode run split across two series (65 episodes here, 13 in Ganbare! Marine Kid). The show gave Marine some cool new gear: an underwater boomerang and a hydrojet. Plus, Neptuna (also called Neptina) went from supporting character to his actual girlfriend. The production team also recycled some footage from the previous Ganbare! Marine Kid series to help flesh out this new batch of episodes.
