It's 2142, and Earth's basically ruined. Environmental collapse wiped out most of humanity, but a few survivors managed to rebuild. They created Ecoban, a walled city that runs on the very pollution that destroyed everything in the first place. Pretty ironic. The problem is, Ecoban became an exclusive club. The people inside see themselves as superior and treat outsiders like disposable labor. They're not interested in helping anyone unless they can work. Then there's Shua, a young guy scraping by in the wasteland with everyone else. His one bright spot is his childhood friend Jay, but she's more focused on Cade, the city's security commander. So that's a mess. Between getting his heart broken and just trying to survive on a dead planet, Shua's got a lot on his plate.
