Synopsis

Ayato Kamina lost Haruka Mishima three years ago when an event supposedly wiped out everyone outside Tokyo. Then invaders attack the city, and he meets a TERRA agent named Haruka Shitow, who promises to show him what's really going on. From there, things get weird fast. Ayato ends up piloting a giant mecha called the RahXephon, discovers that various people—including his own mother—have blue blood, and learns the shocking truth: he's been living in an isolated pocket dimension where time moves much slower than the outside world.
