Synopsis

In Loveless, everyone is born with cat ears and a tail. These disappear only after losing your virginity, which is why they've become symbols of innocence. Combat works differently too—it's always done in pairs. One person is the Sacrifice who takes the hits, while the other is the Fighter who dishes them out. Ritsuka Aoyagi is a 12-year-old kid dealing with mysterious amnesia. Things get worse when his brother is killed, and on his first day at a new school, a stranger named Agatsuma Soubi approaches him claiming to have known his late brother. It turns out Agatsuma and Ritsuka's brother were a fighting pair, and now that he's gone, Agatsuma has decided Ritsuka is his new partner. The two start investigating what really happened to his brother and looking into a shadowy group called the Seven Moons that might've been responsible. As they work together, their relationship grows into something neither of them expected.
