Synopsis

GUMI, Miku, Luka, and Rin run a junk collection business in a rundown downtown area, driving around in a beat-up truck and hawking their services through a speaker while they pick up broken electronics and other discarded stuff. Their shop—technically a recycling business—is basically just a corner of some office building stuffed with inventory and price tags everywhere. Work picks up and they start getting requests they can't handle alone. By chance, a pile of abandoned items falls into GUMI's lap, and things start to get complicated. The city launches an environmental cleanup initiative centered downtown. On the surface it's about redeveloping the area into something nicer, but GUMI and the others see it for what it is—a threat to their way of life. As both the government and the beautification org push their own agendas, a news alert drops about a dangerous creature found on the garbage dump. The cleanup operation kicks into overdrive, taking the dump and the downtown area with it, leaving nothing but an empty lot behind.
