The Great Adventures of Robin Hood
Robin Hood no Daibouken
Robin Hood: A Teen Adventure This is a Robin Hood retelling set centuries ago in Nottingham County, where all the main characters are teenagers. It starts when the cruel Baron Alwine destroys the Huntingtons' castle. Robin and his cousins—Will, Winifred, and Barbara—escape the flames and flee to Sherwood Forest, where they're taken in by Friar Tuck, a hermit who helps them survive in the wilderness. The forest is already home to a gang of young bandits led by Little John. The two groups clash almost immediately, fighting over Marian, a noble girl who's been captured by the bandits during a raid. But the conflict doesn't last long. Robin and John realize they're both victims of Baron Alwine's cruelty—he'd forced Little John's gang into the forest years earlier to escape forced labor—and they decide to join forces instead. Their real enemy turns out to be even bigger than the baron. Marian wears a cross with a secret carved into it, something tied to her family's wealth and status. The corrupt Bishop Herfort wants to adopt her to get his hands on the Lancaster fortune, and he's working with Alwine to make it happen. When Winifred and Marian end up imprisoned in the castle, Robin and his friends launch a daring rescue. Robin becomes a legend—the defender of the poor and oppressed, beloved by the villagers and especially by Marian. Armed with his magical bow and endless courage, he throws himself into one dangerous mission after another.
