Synopsis

Rudeus finally gets somewhere with Eris, only for her to dump him and take off on her own adventure. Devastated and convinced she's lost interest in him, Rudeus heads north to find his mother, but he's basically just going through the motions—depressed, stuck in his own head, barely functioning. Things get real when he nearly dies on a job with a party called Counter Arrow. That brush with death snaps him out of it. Suddenly he remembers why he actually wanted to live in the first place. With his new teammates backing him up, Rudeus rediscovers what it's like to actually enjoy adventuring again and throws himself back into his goal of making the most of this second chance at life.
