Five years before the story begins, bizarre gravity-defying bubbles fell from the sky and devastated Earth. Tokyo took the worst of it—a massive explosion of unknown cause wrapped the entire city in an enormous bubble, and the resulting "Bubble Fall" warped gravity itself, essentially drowning the metropolis in mid-air. The government locked the city down as a no-go zone and everyone evacuated. Now Tokyo's abandoned ruins are home to orphaned kids who've turned to illegal parkour competitions, jumping between buildings and bubbles for thrills and survival. Hibiki's one of the best players around, and he's got a weird ability: he can hear something calling from Tokyo Tower. Obsessed with finding out what it is, he heads toward the tower but ends up falling into the water below. A mysterious girl pulls him out. He names her Uta. What he doesn't know yet is that her arrival is about to unravel everything about what actually happened to Tokyo and their world.
