Synopsis

Mary Saotome is bold, mouthy, and smart as hell. When she transfers to Hyakkaou Private Academy—a school where your social status is literally based on how well you gamble—she immediately makes waves by crushing a classmate at cards. Naturally, this gets the attention of the school's shadowy student council. At Hyakkaou, students at the bottom of the hierarchy are basically screwed, and her childhood friend Tsuzura Hanatemari is heading that direction fast. Mary decides she's going to climb to the top and win enough money to save Tsuzura from the system's grip. Her relentless drive and refusal to back down let her outplay and humiliate even the school's toughest gamblers. But the student council has other ideas for her, and they're not content to just watch from the sidelines.
