Synopsis

The action moves away from grand martial arts tournaments and palace intrigue, dropping Shen Jianxin into the everyday chaos of Chang'an's streets. After Li Wangsheng invites him to set up a branch of Chunyang Palace, Shen Jianxin settles in the city and makes ends meet running a fortune-telling stall. As a "Chang'an drifter," he's a far cry from his old reputation as a celebrated martial artist—he's just another struggling guy in a big city now. His naïve outlook and poor judgment land him in one ridiculous situation after another, but he handles it all with optimism and an idealistic streak. Like countless young people trying to make it in the capital, he tastes both the sweet and bitter sides of that struggle, never losing his sense of honor and ambition along the way.
