Synopsis

Aya Asagiri spends every day thinking about suicide. Between constant bullying at school and physical abuse from her older brother Kaname—who takes out his own academic stress on her—life feels unbearable. One night, a mysterious website called Magical Girl Site pops up on her laptop, offering magical powers. She assumes it's some kind of sick joke until she finds a magical gun in her shoe locker the next morning. When her bullies corner her again, desperation wins out. She uses the gun, and the girls are suddenly transported to a nearby railroad crossing where they get hit by a train. The guilt nearly destroys Aya. She killed two classmates with magic and can't begin to process it. But when she gets into trouble again, another student named Tsuyuno Yatsumura saves her using magic to freeze time. Now the two of them have bigger problems. They're caught up in conflicts with other magical girls while trying to figure out what's really behind the website. There's also an apocalyptic event called "The Tempest" coming, and they need to understand what it is before it's too late.
