Synopsis

"To be quiet and do as you're told, that's the cowardly choice." That's what Junk Dog lives by—an underground fighter in Megalo Box, a sport that uses mechanical limbs called Gear to pump up a boxer's speed and power. The kid's got serious talent, but since he fights illegally, he's stuck throwing matches for his boss Nanbu just to get by. Everything shifts when Yuuri, the reigning Megalo Box champion, shows up to his dingy ring looking for a real fight. Junk Dog gets destroyed in one round. But the loss comes with an invitation: beat your way up to my level, and we'll fight for real. Fired up and bankrolled by the crime syndicate that used to control him, Junk Dog enters Megalonia—a massive international tournament to crown the world's strongest Megalo Boxer. He ditches his old name and calls himself Joe. Now he's got three months to climb from nobody status to title contention, facing boxers he's never encountered before. Everything's on the line, and he's got a champion waiting at the top.
