Synopsis

When the servers for the wildly popular VR game Yggdrasil are about to shut down for good, Momonga—a powerful wizard and leader of the dark guild Ainz Ooal Gown—decides to log in one last time to see it through to the end. Except the servers actually do shut down at midnight, and he's still there. Fully conscious. In his avatar body. And somehow, all the NPCs have gained actual personalities and free will. Bewildered by what's happening, Momonga orders his subordinates to help him figure out this mystery and establish control over the situation. He needs answers: what caused this, and more importantly, are there other players trapped in this world like he is?
