The gate to the Digital World has been sealed for three years. Taichi Yagami and his friends have moved on with their lives, and now a second-year high schooler, Taichi's starting to feel the pressure of figuring out his future. Everyone around him seems to know what they want to do—everyone except him. As they chase their own dreams, the group naturally drifts apart. Then one day, a rogue Digimon called Kuwagamon—a nasty insectoid creature—materializes in the city and starts frying electronics left and right. Taichi chases after it on impulse and quickly finds himself cornered. But his old Digivice suddenly glows to life, and Agumon reappears. Together they manage to take down Kuwagamon, but the questions pile up fast. Why did this Digimon cross over to the human world in the first place? What's going on in the Digital World? And what does any of this have to do with Meiko Mochizuki, the mysterious new transfer student in Taichi's class?
