Synopsis

Ever since a black meteorite crashed to Earth and unleashed the D2s—an alien species that thrives on chaos—the United States has been in freefall. The government's response was extreme: a total ban on music. Even in 2047, no one's allowed to play a note. It's the only thing keeping the D2s at bay, though plenty of people resent the restriction. The world's defense against these creatures comes down to Musicarts—young women who embody classical compositions—and their Conductors, the people who control them in battle. Takt Asahina is a talented pianist who keeps to himself, but his life gets turned upside down when a D2 attack suddenly transforms him into a Conductor. The same attack kills Anna Schneider's sister Cosette and introduces Takt to Destiny, his newly bonded Musicart. The three of them decide to head to Symphonica Headquarters in New York City, hoping to figure out how to stabilize Takt and Destiny's connection. There's a catch though. Takt's desperate to start playing piano again—his real passion—even though his love of music is literally what attracts the creatures he's trying to fight. And Destiny's strong sense of responsibility keeps pulling the group into dangerous situations. With D2s infesting the roads and countless other hazards in their way, whether they'll actually make it to New York in one piece is anyone's guess.
