Synopsis

The duke is a gentle soul who treats everything around him—flowers, people, everyone—with genuine care. He's particularly close to Alice Lendrott, his maid, and their growing affection for each other runs deep. Honestly, it's mostly because of Alice that he's taking his mother's ultimatum seriously: break the curse on him or kiss his inheritance goodbye. The curse itself is the real problem though. His touch kills anything it contacts, and he's desperate to fix it, not for the money, but so he can actually be near the people he loves without hurting them. As spring creeps closer and the deadline becomes impossible to ignore, the duke and Alice spend their days dealing with the chaos of supernatural nonsense alongside their friends. But despite the pressure, the duke won't compromise—he refuses to betray his friends' trust just to save himself. That's just not who he is.
