Synopsis

Megumin is a young mage from the Crimson Demon Village, a secluded town of red-eyed magic users known for being dramatic about, well, everything. She's obsessed with explosion magic—a ridiculously powerful spell that completely drains her mana and leaves her immobilized for hours afterward. Most people would see this as a flaw. Megumin sees it as a feature and refuses to learn anything else. She and Yunyun, her childhood friend turned self-proclaimed rival, both get accepted to the Red Prison, the premier magic academy for Crimson Demons. It's there that Megumin starts uncovering the deeper history of her clan, along with the various threats lurking out there. With her cat familiar Chomusuke by her side and her little sister Komekko tagging along, she's determined to become the ultimate explosion wizard—no matter what it takes.
