Synopsis

Shinsuke Hyoudou wants to be a samurai, but his life takes a wild turn when he stumbles upon Jinka Yamato—a reclusive wanderer—and Tama Youko, a fox girl with magical abilities, wiping out an entire bandit hideout. Turns out Tama is a katawara, a magically gifted species who can transfer her powers to Jinka through a ritual. The two travel around as vigilantes taking down threats, whether they're katawara or human. As Shinsuke gets pulled into their world, he uncovers something darker: monks are running brutal experiments on spiritually gifted people, trying to create human-katawara hybrids strong enough to fight monsters. When the group rescues a girl named Shakuyaku from these experiments, she joins their cause. Together with a growing band of allies, they chase their own dreams while trying to stop the monks' sinister work.
