Synopsis

Shinichi Kudou is a brilliant high school detective who's made a name for himself solving tough cases. One day he decides to tail a couple of suspicious guys and stumbles onto their illegal operation. They catch him red-handed and force him to drink an experimental drug before leaving him for dead. He survives, but wakes up as a seven-year-old kid—still with his full detective brain intact. Since he can't exactly explain what happened, Shinichi goes underground. He hides his real identity from everyone, even his childhood friend Ran and her dad Kogorou, who happens to be a private detective. He adopts the alias Conan Edogawa, pulling the name from mystery writers Arthur Conan Doyle and Ranpo Edogawa. Now operating as Conan, he feeds his deductions to Kogorou, helping solve his cases from the shadows while simultaneously hunting for the criminal organization behind the drug. His real goal is to find a way to turn himself back to normal.
