Synopsis

On his way home from school one day, first-year student Yomogi Asanaka finds a starving man passed out under a bridge. The guy introduces himself as Gauma and explains that he's a "kaiju user"—basically someone who fights giant monsters that attack the city. The next evening, Yomogi runs into Gauma again, this time with his classmate Yume Minami. A kaiju suddenly appears in a crowded part of town, and since Gauma's not great at controlling them, he pulls out some kind of mysterious device and summons a massive robot called Dynazenon. The mecha needs four pilots to operate properly, so it yanks Gauma, Yomogi, Minami, and a random unemployed guy named Koyomi Yamanaka into the cockpit whether they like it or not. That first fight sets everything in motion. It turns out there are other kaiju users out there—the dangerous kind who deliberately use monsters to cause chaos and destruction. As Yomogi and his reluctant crew keep fighting, they start figuring out how to actually unlock Dynazenon's true power.
