Synopsis

Kuroko's Basketball Seirin High's basketball team needs to rebuild. They're struggling to get enough players, but two freshman recruits—Taiga Kagami and Tetsuya Kuroko—make up for the lack of numbers with serious talent. Kagami's a basketball phenom who just moved back from America, while Kuroko looks unremarkable physically, though he's actually a former member of Teikou Middle's legendary "Generation of Miracles." The team gels through training and makes a real run at the Interhigh championship, but things fall apart when they face Touou Academy. That's where Daiki Aomine, one of Kuroko's old teammates, now plays. Bored with basketball and hungry for a real challenge, Aomine completely shuts down Kagami and Kuroko's developing "light and shadow" strategy, making it clear they're not in his league. By the time the Winter Cup rolls around, Seirin's hungry for a rematch. They've been grinding in practice, but taking down Touou won't be easy—especially since Aomine's starting to figure out their playbook. The real question is whether they've improved enough to actually compete.
