Synopsis

While Gintoki's away, the Yorozuya recruits a replacement: Kintoki, a golden-haired version of him who's basically his twin. Now Gintoki has to fight his way back into the group, which is easier said than done when nobody remembers him. It basically becomes a battle between the two of them to see who gets to stay as the main character. Meanwhile, the gang heads back to Yoshiwara, the red-light district, to help an old courtesan track down her long-lost lover. Even though Yoshiwara's no longer literally underground and enslaved, the trio discovers that the people living there are still dealing with heavy trauma from their pasts. Through a series of flashbacks, they witness these stories of undying love and end up doing everything they can to protect it.
