Synopsis

Fifteen kids at summer camp discover a hidden cave near the beach and stumble into a mysterious chamber deep underground. There they meet a man named Kokopelli, who offers them a deal: take turns piloting a giant robot to defend Earth from alien invaders. It sounds like a video game, so all but one of them sign on. That same day, the robot materializes for real. The children get pulled into its cockpit alongside Kokopelli, who engages in a brutal fight with an identical enemy machine. They win, but before Kokopelli can explain what's actually happening, the kids get dumped back on the ground in the middle of the wreckage. Then the robot vanishes, leaving them terrified and completely in the dark. What seemed like harmless fun turns out to be anything but—and the children have no idea how deeply their own pasts are connected to everything that just happened.
