Synopsis

Kokoro's school partners with another to host a bazaar where people can sell or rehome stuff they don't need anymore. On the way home, Elder Tama tells her that she and her Cocotama friends have won a trip to Cocotama World—a place where full-fledged Cocotama gods do their thing. Elder Tama asks for Kokoro's help convincing humans to value their belongings instead of just throwing them away. Turns out Tepple snuck into Cocotama World with the group and stole a key acorn that unlocks the Happy Tree. This tree holds Happy Stars, which are basically the source of magic for their entire world. When Elder Tama discovers it's missing, the gang goes searching. He explains that mushrooms have been sprouting on discarded items—they're born from the sadness people feel about throwing things away, and they give off negative energy that messes with both humans and Cocotama. The Cocotama could normally get rid of them, but without the acorn, and with humans throwing stuff away so fast, they can't keep up. Tepple uses the acorn to grab a Happy Star, but it backfires spectacularly. A rift of darkness tears open in Cocotama World, mushrooms spread like crazy, and Happy Stars start leaking into the human world, draining all the magic out. Now Kokoro and the Cocotama have to heal Tepple's heart before the darkness takes over everything.
