A space pirate named Orbus suddenly attacks Earth, targeting Planet Energy—the planet's life force. If he destroys multiple Release Points where this energy concentrates, Earth will be destroyed. During the first attack, a guy named Takasugi Seiji takes his girlfriend Kosaka Hikaru to an old temple to hide. There, he receives Orin, a mystical token from Earth's guardian spirit. The token grants him the power to transform his patrol car into a giant robot called Da Garn.
