The world's flooding and humanity's dying out, so androids got engineered to handle all the grunt work. Beyond just labor and customer service, they've got this entertainment thing called Babel—basically a tower where performers sing and dance their way through stages to win cash prizes. The higher you climb, the more money you make. Four broke androids named Cobalt, Chrom, Neon, and Kei are facing a power cutoff due to unpaid bills. Desperate and out of options, they decide to become Babel climbers themselves. Problem is, winning over an audience is way harder than it sounds. After watching STAND-ALONE—the reigning top climber—put on an incredible show, Cobalt gets determined to figure out how to make their group actually competitive. Then they catch a lucky break: some mysterious choreographer offers to teach them his routine for free. Cobalt jumps at it. With help from their human friend Esora Shibaura, the four androids form a unit called KNoCC and start their climb up Babel. Of course, they've also got to deal with discrimination against androids the whole way up.
