Synopsis

Eiri Kurahashi is an art student who works at an antique shop. His friends quickly notice he's become distant and weird, and they assume it's because of a girl. They're not entirely wrong. Eiri's been seeing a delicate, doll-like girl living inside an ornate Venetian glass vase that his uncle picked up in France. She exists in some kind of other world trapped within the glass itself, but he can't stop thinking about her. His sketchbook fills up with drawings of her face, and he realizes he's completely obsessed. When he finds her in a portrait by a mysterious Italian artist named Marchello Orlando, he learns her name: Cossette d'Auvergne. She was murdered, along with her whole family. One night while closing up, he hears her voice begging him not to leave. They finally make contact, and he agrees to some kind of deal—though he's not really sure what he's getting into.
