Synopsis

A shadow of darkness is creeping over the forest, and that spells bad news for Mushiking. Time to join forces and take down Adder! Deep in the forest lives a peaceful community of fairies and insects, including Popo the Fairy, Mushiking the King of Beetles, and countless others living in harmony. Everything changes when Iron Stripe, a cheerful stag beetle from another forest, shows up looking for a fight with Mushiking. Before anything can happen, a red-eyed Blue Hercules Beetle attacks them both—and it's being controlled by Adder, a dark fairy plotting to conquer the forest. Mushiking springs into action to protect Popo and the others, but Adder throws another controlled beetle at him: Giraffe, a massive stag beetle. Outnumbered and worn down by the two-on-one fight, Mushiking is overwhelmed and dragged away by his attackers.
