Synopsis

Megalo Box is a sport where fighters wear mechanical frames called Gear to enhance their abilities. "Gearless" Joe made history by winning the first-ever Megalonia tournament without one, becoming a legend. But his reign didn't last long—he lost an exhibition match to the next champion and basically disappeared. Seven years later, Joe's living under the alias "Nomad," scraping by with underground fights and popping painkillers to keep the hallucinations at bay. He's a shadow of his former self. One night he beats a fighter named Chief in the ring, only to learn that Chief threw the match for gambling money. Turns out Chief is part of Casa, an immigrant community that's been squatting on land they're trying to buy. Chief's been grinding to save up enough cash to make it official. Joe's not thrilled about getting dragged into someone else's problems at first, but eventually he can't ignore what's happening and decides to help them out.
