When monsters start causing trouble at the Mako reactor on Mount Nibel, Shinra Electric Power Company sends their best—SOLDIER. The legendary war hero Sephiroth heads up the mission alongside the promising First Class operative Zack Fair and a squad of regular company troops. They're supposed to just check on the reactor and report back to the higher-ups. But when they reach Nibelheim, the small town that depends on the reactor for power, Sephiroth uncovers something much bigger: the truth behind the monsters, and the dark secrets of Shinra's infamous Jenova Project. Months later, everything's different. Zack's on the run through the woods, a far cry from the hero he thought he'd be. He's being hunted by the Turks—Shinra's covert cleanup crew—who'll stop at nothing to silence him and his companion. As far as the company's concerned, they're living evidence of something that needs to stay buried.
