Synopsis

Sayaka got her wish granted, but it came with a terrible price. The consequences overwhelmed her, her soul gem darkened, and she spiraled into despair until she lost herself entirely. That's when Homura finally reveals the awful truth to Kyouko and Madoka: magical girls don't just fade away when their soul gems become corrupted. They transform into Grief Seeds and are reborn as witches. Homura only knows this because she's lived through it all before—looping time over and over, desperately trying to keep Madoka from the same fate. Things get worse when Kyuubey admits what he's really been doing: using the magical girls as fuel to keep the universe alive. With Walpurgisnacht, an impossibly powerful witch, bearing down on them, Homura makes one more vow to protect Madoka and everyone else from what's coming. But Madoka's caught between two impossible choices: keep Homura's promise, or save the world. Whatever she decides will change everything.
