After that, she decided isolation was safer than friendship. Fast forward to high school, and a chance encounter with Yamato Kurosawa, the school's popular guy, starts to unravel her carefully built walls. Yamato's determined to be her friend, whether Mei wants it or not. Things shift when he kisses her to protect her from a creepy stalker—a moment that sparks real feelings in her.
