Synopsis

Japan's been devastated by some kind of apocalypse that turned everything into endless desert wastelands, and now a mysterious rusting disease is killing people left and right. The government blames it all on a guy named Bisco Akaboshi and his deadly mushroom spores—they call him the "Man-Eating Mushroom" and paint him as a terrorist. Except Bisco's actually innocent. He's a "Mushroom Protector" on a mission to find the legendary Sabikui mushroom, which is supposedly the cure for the rust plague. He's got two unlikely allies: his massive crab companion Akutagawa and a gentle doctor named Milo who's searching for a rust cure to save his dying sister. Yeah, everyone hates Bisco and treats him like a monster, but he's determined to keep fighting and save the world, disease and all.
