The Daihasei Festival is in full swing, and Tokiwadai Middle School is out to prove itself. Sure, they've got Mikoto Misaka—the "Ace of Tokiwadai"—on their side, but that doesn't stop the other students from giving it everything they've got, even if winning against her seems basically impossible. But there's a darker side to all the festivities. Opening Academy City to the outside world during the festival has attracted some unwanted attention. Various groups are looking to infiltrate the city for their own purposes, and Misaka has definitely caught their interest. As the festival goes on, shadowy figures start making their moves. Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T follows Misaka and her friends as they're pulled into the murkier corners of Academy City. Terrorist plots, illegal experiments, shady underground operations—nothing's off the table. It's not long before the festival's cheerful atmosphere gives way to something far more sinister.
