Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, lives happily on Flower-Fruit Mountain ruling over his monkey subjects. When he breaks his sword during training, he decides he needs something better. He heads to the Dragon King's underwater palace and walks away with a powerful staff—without exactly asking permission. The Dragon King isn't happy about losing his most prized possession, so he complains to the Jade Emperor in Heaven. The Emperor comes up with a scheme to keep Wukong under control, but he's about to learn that the monkey is smarter and trickier than he bargained for.
