Synopsis

Midgar is an all-girls academy that made headlines by enrolling its first male student, Yuu Mononobe. But that's not even the weird part—the school exclusively accepts students called D's, girls with incredible powers over dark matter who can shape it into weapons. The D's are a recent phenomenon. Twenty-five years ago they didn't exist at all. They only started appearing after mysterious, destructive creatures called Dragons suddenly showed up around the world and then mysteriously disappeared just as fast. In the aftermath, certain girls began being born with strange symbols on their bodies and Dragon-like abilities of their own. Now these girls train at Midgar to master their powers and prepare for the Dragons' eventual return. Yuu is unique for being the first and only male D ever discovered. He'll need to bond with his classmates—including his sister, who also attends the school—and work together with them to track down and stop the Dragon threat.
