Synopsis

Yurie Hitotsubashi is your average middle school girl living in Onomichi during the laid-back 1980s, mostly concerned with acing her classes and getting the oblivious Kenji to notice her. That changes overnight when she casually tells her friend Mitsue that she's become a goddess. Her classmate Matsuri sees dollar signs—or rather, yen. Matsuri's family runs a struggling Shinto shrine, and she figures replacing their useless local deity, Yashima-sama, with Yurie could turn things around. So Matsuri becomes Yurie's self-appointed manager, dragging her into the divine business whether she likes it or not. Now Yurie's juggling shrine duties—granting wishes, breaking curses, dealing with aliens, hitting up god conferences—all while trying to keep her grades up and finally work up the nerve to confess to Kenji. It's pretty much normal teenage life, except with way more supernatural nonsense.
