Synopsis

After an apocalyptic war called Armageddon, humanity faces a new threat: vampires. The world has fractured into opposing factions locked in an endless cycle of conflict. On one side, the vampires—known as Methuselah—align with the New Human Empire. On the other, humans called Terrans by their vampire counterparts form the Vatican Papal State. Caught between them are extremist groups like the Rosenkreuz Order, who actively work to reignite full-scale war despite both sides' efforts to maintain an uneasy peace. To deal with terrorist threats, the Vatican established the AX unit, a special investigative force run by Cardinal Caterina Sforza. Their job is to look into vampire-related incidents and hopefully pave the way toward actual coexistence between the two races. The unit includes Abel Nightroad, a priest who seems scattered and kind-hearted but becomes a ruthless fighter when facing vampires. His partner is Sister Esther Blanchett, a courageous young nun carrying deep trauma from her past. As Abel and Esther work together, they start uncovering evidence of conspiracies operating in the shadows. But the more they learn, the more their investigation pulls them toward painful personal reckoning—forcing them to confront the ghosts of their own pasts.
